Novo Nordisk posts monthly self-pay prices on its own site. Prices vary by strength, need a prescription, and the maker can change them at any time. These prices are attributed to the manufacturer. They aren't a PeptideX offer. Eligibility and terms apply, per the manufacturer.

- Commercial insurance may cover these drugs. Coverage for weight management is often excluded or needs prior authorization. Coverage for type 2 diabetes (Mounjaro, Ozempic) is more common.
- Manufacturer savings cards can lower copays for commercially insured patients. Government beneficiaries (Medicare, Medicaid) are excluded (Zepbound savings, NovoCare).
- Medicare: through the temporary Medicare GLP-1 Bridge (July 1, 2026 to December 31, 2027), eligible people with Part D pay a $50 monthly copay for certain GLP-1s, per CMS, checked Nov 3, 2026. See what's covered and who's eligible.
Questions to ask your insurer
- Is the drug on my formulary, and for which diagnosis?
- Is prior authorization required, and what documentation does it need?
- Is there step therapy (trying another drug first)?
- What is my copay after the deductible?
Compounded and "research" versions
FDA-approved drugs are the only versions reviewed for safety, effectiveness and quality. The FDA has warned about unapproved GLP-1 products sold for weight loss (FDA). Retatrutide is not approved and cannot legally be sold for human use. It has no legitimate price yet. See the retatrutide tracker.
Retatrutide: what will it cost?
Lilly has not announced a price. Retatrutide is investigational and not FDA approved. Lilly says it can't legally be sold or marketed for human use. Lilly plans to submit to FDA in the first quarter of 2027 and says there is no guarantee that timeline will be met (Lilly Medical, Lilly).
Questions
How much does Zepbound cost without insurance?
Zepbound's self-pay price is set by Eli Lilly. See LillyDirect for current self-pay prices. You need a prescription, and Lilly can change its prices, so check Lilly's page before you buy.
Orforglipron (Foundayo) vs. the Wegovy pill: what's the difference?
Both are FDA-approved GLP-1 pills for weight loss in adults with obesity, or overweight plus a weight-related health problem, used with diet and exercise. The Wegovy pill (oral semaglutide, Novo Nordisk) was approved on December 22, 2025. Foundayo (orforglipron, Lilly) was approved on April 1, 2026. The Wegovy pill is also approved to lower the risk of major heart events in people with heart disease. No trial has compared the two pills directly, so their results can't be ranked against each other. Both labels carry an FDA boxed warning about a possible risk of thyroid C-cell tumors. Talk to a licensed clinician about which, if either, fits you.
Does PeptideX sell these drugs or take a commission?
PeptideX doesn't sell these drugs. Some PeptideX pages include labelled partner links, and PeptideX may earn a commission if you sign up through one. Some pages also link to our sister site NuvoTrim, which may earn a commission from partner links; those links are labelled.
What will retatrutide cost?
Lilly has not announced a price. Retatrutide is not approved and cannot legally be sold for human use, so it has no legitimate price yet.
